Scanning Under GA
The caudal aspect of the neck is reachable under general anesthesia! The Asto CT team has been busy advancing our capabilities with the addition of a table extension and portable hoist for scanning under general anesthesia. The University of Minnesota-Leatherdale team was able to easily lift and position the horse for scanning and administer anesthesia during the scan. The walk-through setup of the Equina CT scanner allowed anesthesiologists to easily administer anesthesia on the opposite end of the scanner through-out the entire process. This improvement aided in identifying additional opportunities for further streamlining the overall process in the future.
